TROY MULTI-UNIT HOUSING
Spring 2014
Professor: Elena Perez-Guembe
Partner: Katie Walker
This studio was concentrated on designing a multi-unit housing project comprising roughly 70 units and was broken up into three phases. The first phase consisted of documentation and analyses of existing housing projects to gain insight on organization elements of large scale housing. The second phase consisted of an exercise in developing a written program for mixed-use housing, a document produced by the studio section as a whole to have a greater understand of the site, climate, and geographical and social context. The third and last phase of the project was to begin designing the housing project on a river front site in Troy, NY, consisting of the necessary drawings to document the housing project as well as a 1/16" scale massing model and a 1/4" scale section model. Phases 2 and 3 were executed in pairs.
